This event has been made possible thanks to funding by Aberdeenshire Council

Why?

To ensure that local government takes account of OUR VOICE on OUR VILLAGE'S FUTURE in plans and decisions, and to support funding applications for community led projects. See Why it matters for how our community's VOICE has helped enhance Aboyne centre, improve road safety and much more in recent years

How?

The VOICES of local individuals, businesses and organisations will shape the new ABOYNE LOCAL PLACE PLAN which will then feed into the planning system and demonstrate community support. See Have your say for how your VOICE can make a difference

When?

We held a survey and group sessions in autumn 2023 to hear the VOICES of our community. The results fed into a series of Initiatives which we consulted on with key stakeholders during 2024 - see Spring 2024 Engagement - materials. The final draft ABOYNE LOCAL PLACE PLAN will be shared with the community in November 2024 and submitted to Aberdeenshire Council by the end of the year, ensuring that OUR VILLAGE’S VOICE is included in the next Aberdeenshire Local Development Plan

Who?

Local community groups and individuals have come together under Mid Deeside Community Council to develop the new ABOYNE LOCAL PLACE PLAN. We are making a real effort to ensure that all VOICES are heard, from all parts of our community

Thank you!

An important THANK YOU to our community for pulling together on this project. We are grateful to everyone who completed the survey, helped distribute it and attended engagement sessions. Many thanks also to the staff and pupils at Aboyne Academy and Aboyne Primary for ensuring that the VOICES of young people in our community are heard. And thanks too to Aberdeenshire Council's planning team and the Marr Area team for all their help and support
